Starting a blog

We thought starting a blog might give us greater opportunity to tell people about the adventures we have with our company, and in our own time. Somehow the 140 characters allowed by Twitter doesn't seem to always give the capacity to really explain what it is like to be doing some of the amazing, or slightly crazy, things that we are lucky enough to have the opportunity to try out.

Although we are both gainfully employed by the NHS in the UK, our true love is travel and adventure. We try and take every moment we can to remember that there is a big world out there, beyond our own scope and experiences, where people live entirely different lives to our own. That isn't to say that we are always jumping on a plane abroad, using every page in our passports, and spending every hard earned pound crossing the globe. We have both learnt that there is often an adventure to be had just around the corner from the streets where we live and work.

We both ride motorbikes, on and off road, and relish the freedom that gives you to see and experience things differently. Offer us the chance to be on two wheels and generally we will take it, regardless of the type of bike or the environment for the trip. My only prerequisite is that I can touch the ground....just!

Adventure Medical is our way of attempting to help other people have safe and supported adventures, confident in the knowledge that they have the basic skills and knowledge to look after themselves from a medical point of view, or alternativly that any issues will be covered by one of our handpicked adventure medics. You can find a bit more out about Adventure Medical at adventure-medical.co.uk
